Twin Exorcist Dubbed
Funnimation finally annoucned the English VA for the Twin Star Exorcists anime. My name is Dragonlord and with this blog I'm going to discuss the cast and what my thoughts are on them and how I think they will do.
Bryce Papenbrook as Rokuro Enmado
Bryce Papenbrook has worked in many important roles in the past such as:
Meliodas from the Seven deadly sins
Eren Jaeger from Attack on Titan
Kirito from Sword art Online
and Rin Okumura from Blue Exorcist
I'm glad that Rokuro's VA seems to be a well known in the industry and has many important roles in the past and choose him for Rokuro who just like his previous roles is a protagonist of a shounen series so him as Rokuro is a safe choice while also could mean that he may not make him sound unique at the same time. I'm expecting alot from him since he looks like the man for the job but also I hope he will able to deliver when the time comes.
Cassandra Lee Morris as Benio Adashino
who has also voiced
Leafa from Sword art Online
Saki Mikajima from Durarara
and Ernesta Kuhne from Asterisk Wars are some of the well known roles I managed to found.
As I will mention later on I honestly think that she would fit better for Mayura instead of Benio. The reason I'm saying this is because her voice as I listen some her roles on YouTube seemed the type of the character that loves and cares about you like Mayura where Benio in the series is more of a fighting and determed person but I want to hope that she will do fine regardless
Laura Summer as Mayura Otomi
Now with this I will get start right off the bat and say I'm very dissapointed with that choice for Mayura because the only 'important' role she had was in digimom and with Ghostbusters and from what I heard I'm not very pleased for her doing Mayura a major character in the series and one that has her key moments in the anime. Very dissapointed and sad with that choice in my opinion.
Vic Mignogna as Yuto Ijika
Vic Mignogna is very well known English voice actor who has voiced popular characters such as:
Broly from the Dragon Ball series
Edward Elric from Fullmetal Alchemist
Obito Uchiha(kid) and Nagato from Naruto
and Ikkaku Madarame from Bleach are some of his well known performances.
With this I'm very conficted because why I like his work and how he potrays the roles he is given to him I don't know if he can match to Yuto's character. I really want to give Vic a chance for this one because it will either be a big success since Yuto is ruthless and he has voiced Broly so that's a pass but Yuto is also nothing like Broly hopefully he will sound something like Obito because it will be sad to see the main antagonist voice to be a disaster.
Erica Lindbeck as Kohana
Ok this is the most stupid of all the list for those who don't know Erica has done many importand roles in anime such as:
Kaori Miyazono from Your lie in April
Jericho from the Seven Deadly Sins
Eli Ayase from Love Live
and Ren Gyokuen from Magi
So why such a well known voice actor is given a role for a minor character such as Kohana that only gets few lines only in the first episode? This is a waste of a good talent that could have been used for other major female characters in the show like Miku,Sakura or Suzu the Basara but they decided to giver a role like that? That's is just awful to hear and when I saw the characters she played before I thought are they stupid ? why don't they give her a proper role? smh whatever
Todd Haberkorn as Ryogo Nagitsuji
This choice is ok in my book not to great not that bad so no major problems with that choice, Tobb has also given his voice to
Natsu from Fairy Tail
Allen Walker from D.Gray Man
Momo from Good Luck Girl!
and Judar from Magi
As we can see from his previous works he had quite the importand roles and him playing Ryogo a character that wants to help Rokuro and is a brother figure to him it's good that it is someone that seems that could possibly fit the role. But watching the roles he has done as a whole and the personalities he has done it would have been better to do a character who is more charesmatic like Kankuro or Tenma from the twelve guardians. But since he is taken the role of Ryogo I guess we can expect him to deliver his lines well.
Joey Lotsko as Kinako
Joey from what I seen in animenewsnetwork has mostly small roles when it comes to anime but he seems to have voiced Paul Hanbridge from My little witch Academia but he didn't get the credit for it. So him playing Kinako I'm honestly fine with it since Kinako in the anime tends to be annoying at times so who ever was to voice him couldn't make much change in my books. But giving Kinako to him who seems to know how to voice mostly side characters it's okay and I believe we will have no issues with him.
Alex Evette as Kinu Furusato X plane 11 product key.
Now this actor accourding to animenewsnetwork is getting her deput in voice acting with Kinu so I can't have a picture of how Kinu will sound like. It's nice that to see a new actor is included in the dub but I'm also worried of how she will handle Kinu's role since she does appear in the 1st episode and talks quite a bit in the first couple of episodes and does explain Benio's backstory and introduces to the rest of the characters so she does have an important role for setting up Benio's character so I'm curious how she will perform.
Brian Beacock as Shinnosuke Kunizaki
Brian as a voice actor according to his previous roles seems to be know how to voice Shinnosuke since he is a supportive character in the series. Some of his well known roles are:
Yumichika Ayasegawa from Bleach
Renzo Shima from Blue Exorcist
Chojuro from the Naruto series
Walker Yumasaki from Durarara
Honestly when I saw that this guy voiced Renzo and Walker I'm confident to say that he will do great as Shinnosuke because just like those two Shinnosuke tends to share some of the character traits that they do have like teasing others while he seems to know when to take action and when to be retreat. So i look forward of how he will potray and voice Shinnosuke despite being a side character he has some moments after the time skip or when the group is just relaxing.
Kate Higgins as Subaru Mitejima
She has voiced Karin Kurosaki and Retsu Unohana from Bleach
C.C from Code Geass
and Sakura Haruno from Naruto
Now this for me is the second best choice from all the roles here. I'm really happy that the voice who did Retsu from Bleach is going to voice Subaru because both of them talk kinda the same calm way and i look forward of how she will perform for Subaru since she is helping both Rokuro and Benio in the anime to hook up along with Tatara in the start of the series while also she can be quite violent while having her calm and elegant voice just like Unohana. So I'm really excited for this role giving into Kate and I hope for the best.
Johnny Yong Bosch as Shimon Ikaruga
Now this is the one I'm the most excited to hear about. For those that don't know Johnny is mostly famous for the following roles:
Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach
Yukio Okumura from Blue Exorcist
Izaya Orihara from Durarara Jai ho video song download.
and Lelouch Lamperouge from Code Geass
The man himself voicing Shimon and I'm glad that someone as well known voice actor is included in the cast of the Twin Star Exorcists. But while i'm glad that Jonny is voicing Shimon a character that sets an example for the other guardians along with Seigen in the beginning of the series and he is a major character that appears in many episodes along Rokuro and Benio so is good that someone like him is voicing Shimon.
My thoughts on the cast
Overall while we don't have the whole cast for all the characters yet. I like that well known voice actors are part of my favourite series but some of the choices of the directors are questionable and some terrible in my book. While I don't watch dub all that often I will watch this because it's twin stars but that doesn't save of how horrible or good this will be in my eyes. I want to be optimist and hope that this dub will turn out to be at least average so that many dub only watchers can enjoy and hopefully thus give the manga a chance in the future. Tell me what do you guys think in the comments below. See you next time

Welcome to another 6 anime like series where we focus on six great anime that all share some similarities, pertaining to story, character, and more. For our next series we'll take a look at Blue Exorcist (Ao no Exorcist). This is the remake version of the original six anime like Ao no Exorcist, so if you'd like to see our previous listing, be sure to check it out below. So with all that being said, lets grab our exorcist gear and take down the bad guys!
1. Tokyo Ghoul
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: July 4, 2014 - September 19, 2014
Tokyo Ghoul looks at the city from a corrupt and merciless perspective, as vicious evil creatures called ghouls now exist alongside humans. The citizens who once lived in a peaceful society are now facing fear as the ghouls are now terrorizing the city, devouring every helpless human in their path. The worst part of it all is their ability to take the form of humans and blend in with the rest of the community. Much of the story revolves main protagonist Ken Kaneki who unfortunately meets his demise when Rize confronts him, leading him down a dark path of uncertainty. After he awakens and looks in the mirror, Ken now realizes he has transformed into a half ghoul, half-human and must now find a way to blend in with the evil corrupt society.
Tokyo Ghoul and Blue Exorcist star two main characters who initially have a normal life which eventually ends up turning into a crazy mess. They become introduced to a world that was unknown to them and must now come up with solutions to solve these new problems that they're confronted with. Their unexpected encounters opened up a new world where both Rin and Ken must now deal with humanity versus the opposing race, Rin disposing of demons, while Ken must kill ghouls to restore order in the system.
2. D.Gray Man
- Episodes: 103
- Aired: October 3, 2006 - September 30, 2008
Allen must deal with his dark past, and cope with the loss of his mother along with his torment. A much darker future awaits him as the evil Millennium Earl plots to destroy the entire existence of humanity with his creation of Akuma. This special weapon uses the souls of the dead which are then trapped within it until the use of Innocence, an Anti-Akuma weapon, releases them from their prison. After spending a number of years under the guidance of General Cross, Allen signs up with The Black Order in hopes to prevent Earl's evil reign of terror, while using his new weapons to bring peace back to the souls that have been tormented.
Allen and Rin were both cursed in the sense that, they were born into their struggles, and must find a way to ensure their skills are put to good use. The two realize that their lives are being threatened, and so they enlist in organizations that will guide them along their journey, entrusting them with stronger weapons. Allen and Rin are out for some sort of revenge for their past, and so they team up with other strong individuals in order to seek the answers they're looking for. Both have a mission to stop demons from creating a massacre, and must deal with new threats at every waking moment. The action packed in these anime are absolutely nuts, so we really suggest checking them out along with D.Gray Man's second season which is currently airing!
3. Ushio to Tora
- Episodes: 26
- Aired: July 3, 2015 - December 25, 2015
As a reminder, we'll be focusing on the first season of Ushio to Tora, but we encourage you to check out its second season because it's truly epic. In the first season, Ushio comes across a mysterious creature located in his grandfather's secret storage area. The intimidating creature, Tora, was sealed there with the legendary Beast Spear and cannot leave unless someone pulls the spear from out of his shoulder. Ushio confronts Tora reluctantly with Tora warning him if he were to do so, he would not hesitate to rip him apart. Having no fear in his heart, Ushio rips the spear from Tora's shoulder thus granting him the supreme power of the Beast Spear. From here, the two join forces to help put a stop to the endless army of ghouls who terrorize the city, and to discover the truth behind who created the Beast Spear.
Both Ao no Exorcist and Ushio to Tora feature two characters who are out to eliminate a deadly enemy that threatens their existence. Ghouls invade their territory and so they must rely on their partners to get the job done quickly, without causing harm to the environment around them. The two are relatively young and still in school, so much of their life is either saving the lives of others, or saving their grades. Ushio looks up to Tora as his brother much like Rin looks up to Yukio, and despite their disagreements at times they both show compassion for the main character when in trouble.
4. Blood Lad
- Episodes: 10
- Aired: July 8, 2013 - September 9, 2013
Blood Lad stars Staz, who is the boss of vampires in the demon world, but has no intention to seek blood from the human race. Staz comes across a teenage girl named Fuyumi, who mysteriously found herself in this new universe. Staz finds himself allured by Fuyumi and befriends her. This friendship soon turns deadly however, as Fuyumi is killed by a monster while Staz had his back turned. This unfortunate death led Staz to fight for the sake of Fuyumi to bring her back to life.
Rin and Blood are both out for revenge for someone being taken from them. Staz finds himself in harms way in every direction, trying to discover the right solutions while avoiding death. Rin follows the same path also, along with Yukio, as they risk their lives to bring down the evil that's corrupting the nation. Rin and Staz are quite hot headed and need the assistance of others in order to see clearly, and keep their focus primarily on the priority at hand. The relationship that Staz has with his brother Vlad is very similar to that of Rin and his father Satan, where there are constant disagreements which lead to even bigger troubles along the way.
5. Owari no Seraph
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: April 4, 2015 - June 20, 2015
Owari no Seraph is a post apocalyptic supernatural anime that looks at the life of Yuuichirou and his constant search for retribution, while fighting for friendship and loyalty against what seems to be an impossible journey. Yuuichirou was the victim of a hostage takeover and was taken captive, along with other children. Being the only survivor of a deadly massacre by the vampires, Yuuichirou is discovered by the Moon Demon Company, a military unit dedicated to exterminating vampires in Japan. He now vows to seek revenge for the death of his family, not realizing the cost that he must pay throughout the ordeal.
Rin and Yuuichirou have both been stripped of their dignity as well as their family, and so they must learn to fight back to regain it all. They decide to enlist in a powerful organization that will allow them to avenge their loved ones, and to take down evil as soon as possible. They both find themselves in tight binds constantly throughout the series, where they must decide whether they must kill an enemy or leave it behind in order to seek out more clues to the problems lying ahead.
6. Tokyo Ravens
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: October 9, 2013 - March 26, 2014
The tale of Tokyo Ravens begins when main protagonist Harutora Tsuchimikado, is attacked by Suzuka, a powerful onmyodo-user. She is convinced that he is to be the heir of the Tsuchimikado family, who intends to conduct the exact same ritual that led to a terrible disaster in the past. Suzuka then comes to realize that her beliefs were a mistake, but now in order to defeat her, Harutora fulfills a childhood promise he made to Natsume, the true heir of their family. He decides to become her familiar to aid her in a battle between onmyouji.
Rin and Harutora deal with a new threat which forces them out of their comfort zone, and into a world they're clearly not prepared for. Both start off as ordinary students, until a new hurdle is placed in front of them prompting some sort of change. They both undergo intense training in order to fend off evil demons that threaten to kill anything in their path, so they must rely on their instinct and special abilities to protect the ones they care for. The two had been attacked early on in the story by random enemies, which prompted them to react and figure out a way to stop what was in front of them. They eventually develop enough confidence and strength to overcome and slay the demons with relative ease, bringing peace back to their surroundings.
Closing Statement
Ao no Exorcist really shows us that when confronted with the task of saving the world, you must put everything else aside to ensure peace is restored around you. Special relationships must be made to ensure the safety of the world you live in, while protecting yourself from uncertain events. One great aspect about Ao no Exorcist and our list is that each character fights for someone who they care about, even if it means your life is on the line. Devotion to those you love are a priority and must be taken care of first before anything else. You really did or still enjoy watching Blue Exorcist, you like when the protagonist is as badass as Rin, has supernatural power or anything linked to a war between different races like demons and humans? Animes with action, supernatural, mystery, religion and yet really fun?
Here is what you could be searching for!
1. D. Gray-man
- Episodes: 103
- Aired: Oct. 2006 - Sep. 2008
Around the end of an imaginary 19th century, Allen Walker a young exorcist is fighting Akuma, evil evolving weapons under a human form, born from souls of the deads called back by mourning living relatives or intimate acquaintances. To rival with those threats, Allen carries a weapon called “Innocence” in his left arm and a demonic eye that enables him to see the akuma even under a human form. He is also part of the Black Order, the organization that try to stop the one who leads the Akuma called “the Millennium Earl”.
D.Gray-man is a really good anime containing lots of action and this topic of war between Exorcists and Demonic weapons (called Akuma/literally “Demon” in Japanese). The characters are really stylish which make the fight scenes awesome. Even though it is a bit more dramatic and darker than Blue Exorcist, it still has a lot of fun parts which makes the atmosphere lighter. Added to that, its gothic style gives us a feeling of some Tim Burton’s influence which emphasize the tragic side of the story.

2. Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Episodes: 64
- Aired: Apr. 2009 - Jul. 2010
“Humankind cannot gain anything without first giving something in return. To obtain, something of equal value must be lost. That is alchemy's first law of Equivalent Exchange.” Edward and Alphonse Elric, two teenagers able to use the Alchemy learned the hard truth.
If you still didn’t watch the excellent and renowned Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood (FMAB), this is to me a must-watch! The anime mixes science through Alchemy, magic, action, adventure and fun in a European Industrial Revolution look-alike world. It might even make you shed some tears. Pay attention though, FMAB follows way more strictly the original manga while his older brother Fullmetal Alchemist does not really.
So for those who have never seen it, go for it!

3. Soul Eater
- Episodes: 51
- Aired: Apr. 2008 - Mar. 2009
The Death Weapon Meister Academy in Death City, Nevada, United States, is a specific school to train humans with the ability to transform themselves into deadly weapons as the ones who wield those weapons. This is the place where Maka, Soul, Black Star, Tsubaki, Death the Kid, Liz and Patty are studying with one same goal: Defeat and absorb the soul of 99 humans that turned into monsters named Kishin and one witch in order to increase drastically the power of the weapon and to become a death scythe.
You might think after the first episode that Soul Eater is way lighter, colourful and maybe looking like simpler than the others anime listed in this article but don’t stop at this first glance, he gets way better throughout the show. Plus, here the protagonist that kicks evil asses is a girl, which is kind of refreshing. Another thing to notice is the animation, provided by studio Bones (best known for Fullmetal Achemist notably), and they did once again a great job!

4. Guilty Crown
- Episodes: 22
- Aired: Oct. 2011 - Mar. 2012
Tokyo in 2039, 10 years after the outbreak of the “Apocalypse Virus”, Ouma Shu becomes unintentionally involved in a fight between with the rebel group “Funeral Parlor” and the multinational governing Japan named GHQ when he unexpectedly obtained a mysterious power enabling him to extract tools/weapons called “voids” out of peoples’ hearts.
Here, no demons but expect still a lot of action, fights and supernatural powers. Less funny than the rest, the story is still enjoyable with the evolution of the main character and the mysteries around his past.
The plus of this anime? Its animation from Production I.G (Psycho-Pass, Ghost in the Shell and the intros and artworks for the famous game Tales of Symphonia) and its music, especially the Openings and Endings produced by Supercell and Egoist (which also made the second ending theme of Psycho-Pass), both led by songwriter Ryo.
